Summer Camp – 2021
We are excited to share with you our 2021 World of ABC, The Waldo School summer camp programs! Our summer camp offers four different sessions throughout July and August for parents to choose from with multiple timing options to help meet the needs of our families. We have also designed three separate summer camp programs, one specifically for preschoolers, and one virtual and one in-person option for Kindergartners – 6th graders!
Waldo Preschool STEAM Summer Camp (PreK 2, PreK 3, PreK 4)
PreK 2: 125 1st Street Location
PreK 3 & 4: 110 1st Street Location
Our exciting summer camp program is a balance of fun and creativity, with an emphasis on student-driven, inquiry-based approaches to learning! During each week’s unique theme, such as Talented Tinkerers, Global Engineers and Splish Splash, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) will be incorporated in a hands-on way. This year we are also excited to introduce our Preschool Maker Space, where campers will be able to explore, create, and engineer with a variety of open-ended materials. Our camp will also feature daily outdoor time, and for our PreK 3 and PreK 4 students, walking trips to the waterfront.
Waldo STEAM Summer Camp – In-Person (Kindergarten – 6th Grade)
110 1st Street Location
Featuring robotics, engineering, art, programming and coding activities, campers will problem solve and collaborate on projects using the latest technology in a student driven, inquiry-based setting! Campers will explore eight exciting, STEAM-focused themes, such as Mission to the Moon, Sustainable Earth, Circuits and Design and Roving Robots, in our dedicated STEAM lab. In addition to daily STEAM projects, campers will also reinforce mathematics and reading skills all summer. Campers will also explore a different sport each week in our gymnasium, and participate in daily outdoor time and walking trips to the waterfront.
Waldo STEAM Summer Camp – Virtual (Kindergarten – 6th Grade)
In our virtual option, campers will explore eight STEAM-focused themes, such as City Creators, Stop Motion Animation, and Traveling through Time. In addition to daily STEAM projects, campers will also reinforce mathematics and reading skills all summer, and participate in physical education lessons. All classes will be conducted synchronously through Zoom live video, and campers will also be provided with the materials needed to work through each of the activities, which can be picked up from The Waldo School prior to the start of each session.
Note that campers will be placed in the age group they completed in the 2020—2021 school year. Please submit your application on or before May 28th, 2021, along with payment for Sessions 1 and 2. Payments for Sessions 3 and 4 will be processed at the beginning of Session 3. Please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions!
